Do you want to become more involved with ANA-Ohio? We are seeking diverse members with various expertise and backgrounds to serve on committees. This article outlines the process to apply for a committee appointment. Applicants must be an ANA-Ohio member and be willing to serve a two-year term. Your term will begin once your application is approved by the board.
Current committees, listed in alphabetical order, as of 6-1-24 are:
- Bylaws
- Continuing Education
- Equity/Diversity/Inclusion
- Finance
- Outreach and Member Engagement
- Professional Practice
- Public Policy
- Publications and Communications
There is also a Governance and Compliance Task Force, as well as four Special Interest Groups (SIGs). The SIGS are Legacy Committee, Awards, Mentorship, and Fellows of the American Academy of Nursing (FAANs).
When an ANA-Ohio member expresses interest or willingness to join a committee or Task Force, he/she will be provided with the “Membership Application Form.” This form is available by emailing director@ana-ohio.org. The Director sends the application to the appropriate committee chair for review and consideration.
The form includes basic information (name, phone, email, current title), as well as experience/expertise related to the committee/task force charge, such as previous committee membership relevant work experience, etc. The completed form goes to the ANA-Ohio Board of Directors, which is the group that approves the application.
