GREETINGS! I am honored to bring you the latest updates from the Iowa Nurses Association as we move through 2024. We have been making some great strides in our work to support nurses and elevate healthcare across Iowa.
Committee Activities
Our committees have been hard at work, driving positive change through educational initiatives and community outreach. Their efforts continue to strengthen the nursing profession and make a real difference for our members.
Fall Conference
Our annual Fall Conference is just around the corner on October 21-22, 2024, in Ames, IA. Registration is now open, and we want to encourage everyone to sign up and share the event with your networks! A big thank you to the Education Committee, led by President Elect Dawn Bowker, for all their hard work coordinating this enriching gathering. Don’t miss out—it’s shaping up to be an incredible event!
Iowa Representation at Membership Assembly
n June 2024, INA was proudly represented at the Membership Assembly in Washington, D.C., by Dawn Bowker, President Elect; Lisa Caffrey, Membership Assembly Representative; and me. We joined forces with leaders from across the country to advocate for nursing priorities on Capitol Hill, making sure Iowa’s voice was heard.
Continued Collaboration
As always, we are committed to building partnerships and expanding our impact. Dawn Bowker and Kate Pace did a fantastic job representing INA as a booth vendor at the Iowa Healthcare Collaborative conference on June 19, 2024. It was a great opportunity to connect with healthcare leaders, share ideas, and explore new avenues for collaboration.
Leading the Iowa Nurses Association is a responsibility I am honored to hold, and I am so grateful for your ongoing support and commitment to our shared mission. Together, we will keep pushing the nursing profession forward and improving healthcare outcomes across Iowa.
Thank you for everything you do, and I am looking forward to continuing this journey together! I hope to see you in Ames in October at our 2024 Annual Conference!
With warm regards,
Greg Opseth, MHA, BSN, RN
INA President
