I’m a school nurse at an elementary school where I’ve cared for a student with an ongoing illness who now has been enrolled in hospice. Part of the child’s plan of care includes a do not attempt resuscitation (DNAR) order. The school district is refusing to honor this order. What can I, as a nurse and employee of the district, do for this child?
