Dear Maryland Nurses Association Members,

Lou J. Bartolo, DNP, MSN, RN

As we embrace the start of 2025, I am filled with profound optimism about our organization’s trajectory and the opportunities that lie ahead. First and foremost, I am delighted to officially welcome Dr. Barbara Biedrzycki as our executive director. Having served as Interim ED over the past year, Dr. Biedrzycki has already demonstrated exceptional leadership and vision. Her deep understanding of our organization’s mission and vision, combined with her innovative approach to challenges has earned her the trust and respect of our entire board. We are fortunate to have her expertise and dedication to MNA as we move forward.

The past year has been transformative, marked by both challenges and remarkable achievements that have strengthened and sharpened our vision for the future. Under Dr. Biedrzycki’s interim leadership, we’ve seen progress in several key initiatives, setting the stage for even greater accomplishments ahead.

MNA’s resilience and adaptability have been our greatest asset. Looking forward, we are poised to capitalize on several strategic initiatives that will define our growth in 2025 and beyond. Our commitment to sustainability remains unwavering as we will expand the business operations of MNA to provide additional value to our members.

Innovation continues to be the cornerstone of our strategy. Our innovations are fostering collaboration and driving breakthrough solutions that address our evolving needs. Our members remain our greatest strength. The diversity of our nursing workforce, combined with our inclusive culture, drives creativity.

Financial stability provides the foundation for our ambitious plans. Our strong balance sheet and disciplined approach to spending allow us to pursue strategic opportunities while maintaining the flexibility to navigate market uncertainties. We are well-positioned to make our regularly targeted investments that align with our long-term growth objectives.

As we look to the months ahead, I am energized by the possibilities before us. With Dr. Biedrzycki at the helm of MNA, and our track record of excellence combined with our innovative spirit and dedicated volunteers of board and committee members, I have never been more confident in our ability to achieve our ambitious goals.

Thank you for your continued trust and support. Together, we will make 2025 a year of unprecedented growth, innovation, and positive impact.

Onward and upward,

Best regards,

Lou J. Bartolo, DNP, MSN, RN
