Lancet study suggests 9/11 firefighters may have higher risk of cancer

The Lancet has published a study that reports a “modest excess of cancer cases” in 9/11 New York City firefighters. The researchers caution that more information is needed because the time since 9/11 is “short for cancer outcomes” and the additional cancer types weren’t limited to specific organ type.
