DEAR FELLOW KSNA MEMBERS,
As hard as it is to believe, summer will begin in just a few days—2024 seems to be marching on at a brisk pace! I hope you have exciting plans in place for summer.

KSNA held our first in many years Legislative & Advocacy Conference during the month of March with On Demand CE ac-credited contact hours for videos throughout the month and a Nurses Day at the Capitol visit on March 13th. The day provided an excellent opportunity for those in attendance to visit with their legislators one-on-one and in groups about specific issues pertinent to Kansas nurses, and to also network with each other. We are already looking forward to next year’s KSNA Legisla-tive & Advocacy Conference and Nurses Day at the Capitol – we would love for you to join us!

The annual ANA Membership Assembly (MA) will take place Friday, June 28 – Saturday, June 29, 2024, in Washington, DC. The MA is an opportunity for nurse leaders that represent member organizations to meet and discuss practice and policy is-sues that impact the profession of nursing. KSNA’s Board President, Laura Mallett, and the elected KSNA Membership Assem-bly Representative, Terry Siek, and I are looking forward to attending this year’s MA and also Capitol Hill Day.

The KSNA Board of Directors participated in the Standards of Excellence training in April with Tina McRae-Phelps, ANA’s Di-rector of Constituent Relations and Membership Support. It was an excellent presentation that is established to promote the highest standards of ethics, effectiveness, and accountability in nonprofit governance, management, and operations, and to assist nonprofit organizations meet these high benchmarks.

As always, please reach out to me by email at Director@KSNurses.com or phone at 785.233.8638 x 300 with any needs, questions, or comments – I am happy to help.

Have a safe and fun summer!
