On Dec. 7, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a guidance document stating it does not intend to enforce the requirement that individuals 18 and up receive a medical evaluation or sign a waiver before purchasing most hearing aids and announced it will consider creating a category of over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids.
