Executive Director,
Kansas State Nurses Association

Greetings, fellow KSNA members,  I hope the New Year is treating you well as we welcome 2025!

There are a few recent updates and changes going on at KSNA as a result of member voting at the 2024 Membership Assembly. The 2024 Membership Assembly took place in two parts, the first on October 22nd and the second on November 20th.  The Membership Assembly Continuation meeting was necessary due to robust discussions and numerous agenda items. Please review the KSNA Bylaws with approved Bylaws changes, posted on our website.  Please note: You must log into the Info Hub to enter the Members Only section of the website to view KSNA documents. Directions for logging into the Info Hub are included each month in the KSNA Newsletter, but please reach out to me at Director@KSNurses.com if you have any questions.

Additionally, our members approved the recommendation by the KSNA Board of Directors to restructure our committees in an effort to increase interest and attendance at committee meetings. After much discussion, the membership voted to pilot a new committee structure in 2025. Similarly, to boost activity and engagement in our regions, the board recommended piloting a regional restructuring. The board will discuss the specifics of creating the pilot restructuring processes and the criteria for measuring their success, and will make further recommendations at the 2025 Membership Assembly based on the results of what was learned through the pilots.

Coming up:

The KSNA Policies and Procedures Committee has been in the process of updating our Policies and Procedures Manual and will recommend changes to the Board in the next few weeks.

The Legislative Conference will be held from March 1 – April 1, and the Day at the Capitol will be held on March 12th, 2025. Please consider registering for the Legislative Conference if you haven’t already.

The Education Council is working diligently on putting together a wonderful Fall Conference in 2025, which we are aiming toward holding in person.

Thank you and take care. And as always, please contact Laura Mallett, Board President, at KSNA@KSNurses.com, or me at Director@KSNurses.com if there is anything we can help you with!

Dana
