Nurses and midwives create a healthier world.

No matter what continent we call home, the experience is the same—nurses and midwives are on the front lines of promoting health, expanding access to care, preventing and controlling diseases, and improving the health of their nations. The challenges are the same too—mismatches in supply and demand, variable working conditions, inadequate social and safety protections, and insufficient inclusion of nurses in policy decisionmaking arenas. The need for greater investments in research, innovation, and technology to enhance the effectiveness of nurses and midwives is a worldwide concern.
