About the NNF

The NNF is organized exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The purpose of the organization is to serve nurses and the public by providing information and resources to improve health care. The assets of the corporation are irrevocably dedicated to educational, scientific, and charitable purposes.

The NNF seeks to achieve this purpose through the provision of nurse scholarships, project grants, and through recognitions in honor or in memory of nurses.

  • The scholarship program is facilitated in collaboration with the NNA Nursing Professional Development Committee, utilizing clear criteria to select recipients of prelicensure and post-graduate funding. Scholarship availability is also contingent upon sufficient available funds.
  • The grants are designed to provide funding for evidence-based practice, quality improvement or innovation projects conducted within clinical nursing settings. Grant availability is contingent upon available funds.
  • Recognitions include the Celebrate a Nurse donation program, the Nightingale Tribute (annual tribute to nurse colleagues in Nebraska who have died) and the Proud to be a Nebraska Nurse pin program.

By working collaboration with the NNA the NNF provides the opportunity for nurses to make a charitable donation to benefit nurses across the State of Nebraska.
