The impact of restrictive laws on patient care

The polarized conflict surrounding healthcare for 
certain populations has created an environment of rapid and significant change in laws across the 
country. This intersection of law and ethics could have profound effects on patient rights, the provision of evidence-informed care, and the experience of moral distress among nurses. The latter arises when an individual feels constrained from doing what they believe to be ethically correct.
